Privacy

Your privacy is important to The Garden Ladder and we are committed to protecting it.  This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that The Garden Ladder collects, and the ways in which we use that personal information.

We keep all information that you share with us private and confidential.  You can be assured that we do not trade, rent or sell your information with any outside parties.

Information Collection & Use

We only collect information from you when you request a callback or appointment, place an order or create an account.  Creating an account will allow you to place future orders faster, send and receive messages and track the status of an order.  When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, which provides us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

When you provide us with personal information, you consent to our collecting it and using it in any of the following ways:

  • To contact you or arrange an appointment at your request;
  • To process transactions where your information may be shared for the express purpose of supplying the purchased product;
  • To improve our website; and/or
  • To improve customer service.

Hosting on Shopify Inc.

Shopify provides us with the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.  Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application.  They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

If you make a purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data.  It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).  Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction.  After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.  All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.  See Shopify's Terms of Service and Privacy Statement for more information.

Third-Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.  However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies for which we bear no responsibility.

Cookies

Shopify uses cookies to provide meaningful reports about our visitors.  However, Shopify cookies do not collect any personal data about our website visitors.

Disclosure of Information

We will not provide any personally identifiable information about you to any other person other than:

  • A law enforcement or regulatory agency at their request;
  • Third parties who perform services on our behalf (such as hosting and payment processing), subject to the third party agreeing with us that it will keep your personally identifiable information confidential;
  • As otherwise needed to protect or enforce our rights or the rights of others.
